.... was founded in 1984 by MAREXA AG, Switzerland, for the cost-effective production of magnesium granules for the iron and steel industry while simultaneously producing the traditional magnesium products such as magnesium chips for the chemical industry and magnesium powder for welding electrodes and pyrotechnics.The newly built plant (mme) located in the European part of Turkey had a capacity of approx. 2,000 tons/year. The company succeeded in signing an agreement with ALMAMET, Germany, for magnesium deliveries on tolling base.

With an office in İstanbul and a new blending station, mme started to deliver magnesium-based desulfurization reagents to the Turkish steel industry. mme installed a second production line for magnesium granules, chips and powders and enlarged the capacity to approx. 4,000 tons/year.Moreover, mme installed a melting operation for  aluminium/ magnesium alloy and started producing Al/Mg alloy powders for pyrotechnic  applications and refractory products.
                 

A new warehouse made it possible to control and monitor all products containing magnesium, from income of raw material, production, blending, till transport to the customer.In 2000 mme production certifies to ISO 9002.Today the total capacity of mme is approx. 6,000 tons/year. mme has a big market share for desulphurization reagents containing magnesium. mme supplies, together with ALMAMET, all of major chemical plants and steelworks in Europe, exports to  India, CIS, Middle East and South America. The volume for desulphurization reagents containing magnesium increased from 100 tons in 1985 to 5,000 tons today. mme's line of products includes powder, chips, granules and mixtures of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
