GRIGNARD REAGENTS
  As a natural mineral, ...

... magnesium is vital for humans, animals and plants. Magnesium is used in organometallic chemistry with the Grignard reagent process, awarded the Nobel Prize in 1912. Reactions between elemental magnesium and haloalkane or halogenated aromatic compounds allow organic magnesium compounds to be isolated that are known as Grignard reagents. For the kinetics of the reaction in the production of Grignard reagents, a magnesium atom must be inserted in a carbon halide bond. A variety of end products are derived through the final hydrolysis of the addition products. Their end products, e.g. vitamin A and E, are also used in the fields of medicine and agriculture.
Due to the Grignard reaction's wide range of application, the requirements for the magnesium used in the reaction are also quite diversified. In collaboration with ALMAMET GmbH Germany, mme has the experience and the means to react to different magnesium  requirements.  Its  product range  encompasses different purities  (from magnesium  alloys  to  standard  magnesium  and  atomized  magnesium). The  granulation  of the magnesium produced by mme ranges from various chippings to fine powders in different  grain sizes. mme has distinguished  itself as a competent partner in this field of magnesium applications.
